Volunteers will be...

Event Greeters and Kids Zone Monitors - Volunteers will greet event attendees and provide them with a program of activities (4:30 to 7 p.m.) and will serve as crowd/line control in the Kids' Zone area of the event and assist with closing down the activity lines. (7 to 9:30 p.m.) These volunteers will also be the eyes and ears for staff out on the event field. 

Fireworks Fallout Zone Monitors - (4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.) Volunteers will monitor the line that separates north parking lot parking and the fallout zone to ensure no one goes past the fencing.  Parker Police will have a presence at this area as well. These volunteers will also be the eyes and ears for staff in the north parking lot.

Ball field Monitors - (4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.)  This year seating space is being offered on the ball fields at the event.  Volunteers will hand out admission bracelets to event goers, help monitor gate area (admission to ball field is first-come, first-serve), help enforce rules of what can and can't be admitted onto ball field area  (no tents, umbrella tents, fireworks, etc.), assist with crowd control and answer questions. These volunteers will also be the eyes and ears for staff out on the ball field seating area.

By volunteering for Parker's Stars and Stripes Celebration, you are helping the Town of Parker provide a free, family-oriented community event to the residents of Parker and surrounding areas.
Time and length of commitment
One time event, July 4 from 5:00 to 10 p.m. Due to limited in and out access at the park once the event starts, we do not split the event shifts. Once the Fireworks show starts, the Event Greeter and Kids Zone Monitor duties are complete and volunteers that sign up for that position are welcome to enjoy the show with friends and family. Volunteers that sign up for the Ball Field Monitor position will receive their four wrist band access for their friends and/or family at the ball field in which they are assigned other volunteers will receive four wrist bands to one of the three ball fields based on event needs.

All positions will require standing a majority of the time. Volunteer may bring their own portable lawn chair for any down times.

Training and support provided
Information packet will be sent to volunteers prior to the event. Instructions/duties will be assigned on site.

A pre-event orientation will also be offered the week before the event for volunteers to receive more information about the event prior to event day and ask questions.

Volunteers will receive a boxed dinner, water and soda, one complimentary event parking pass and four bracelets for admission into a ball field area for their friends and/or family members.

Event staff will sign off on any forms for community service hours.
Can I register a group/family?
Yes. If you are registering as a group leader, you will be provided a link to send to the rest of your group members to register for this volunteer opportunity. If you are registering as a family, other family members do not need to register.
