Volunteers will be...

Thank you for your interest in being a bluebird nest-box monitor. Monitoring season is from April-August. Monitors rotate weekly monitoring of a site with other volunteers and must commit to monitoring once a month. Site monitoring usually takes 1 hour per site, depending on the number of nest-boxes on the site and the terrain. If you are at all interested in being a volunteer this season and want to find out more, please attend our Nest-box Monitor Training on March 6th from 7-8:30 pm at THE  MILLHOUSE at Philip S Miller Park, 1381 W. Plum Creek Parkway.  

If you would just like more information about the Colorado Bluebird Project, in general, feel free to attend our Open House on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 7-8 p.m. The Millhouse at Philip S. Miller Park 1381 W. Plum Creek Parkway.

If you will be volunteering to monitor a site or are new to the program, feel free to print the site listing interest form and a waiver to bring with you to the training. This paperwork is available for download in the volunteer opportunity posting at VolunteerConnectDC.org or at our website at CRgov.com/bluebird.

The Town has over 31 sites that require weekly monitoring of over 150 nest-boxes. The program relies entirely on volunteers to monitor the nest-boxes.
Time and length of commitment
Training is 1.5 hours. Monitoring is a minimum of once a month taking about 1 hour each time.

Training and support provided
Nest-box Monitor Training will be provided on March 6th from 7-8:30 pm at THE MILLHOUSE at Philip S Miller Park, 1381 W. Plum Creek Parkway and on-call support by our Natural Resource Specialist, Barbara Spagnuolo is provided throughout the season. Training manual also provided or can be downloaded from our website at CRgov.com/bluebird.
